A Miles Davis-centenárium évében talán nem véletlen, hogy a legjobb lemezborító‑szöveg kategóriában a Miles '55: The Prestige Recordings című 3 LP-s album szövegének írója, a Grammy-díjas történész Ashley Kahn nyert.
A háromszoros Grammy-jelölt dobos, Nate Smith idén végre kétszeres Grammy-díjas lett: a legjobb alternatív jazzalbum és a legjobb vokális és hangszeres hangszerelés kategóriákban.
A 2021 elején elhunyt Chick Corea tavaly is nyert Béla Fleckkel közös albumukkal. Idén a legjobb jazz előadás kategóriában kapott díjat a 2010-ben Christian McBride-dal és Brian Blade-del rögzített Trilogy 3 albumon megjelent „Windows” című kompozícióval, amely már a 29. Grammy-díja. Christian McBride ezen felül saját big bandjével is nyert: a legjobb nagyzenekari jazzalbum kategóriában. Ő még csak a 11. Grammy-díjánál jár.
